The Scout Shop and Office will be closed on

September 6, 2021 in observance of

LABOR DAY

We will open again Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 9 am.

It is with great sadness that we are forced to cancel our 3rd Annual Buffalo/Raffle.

Delta Interior Game Ranch (our vendor for the Buffalo prizes) notified us on August 3rd that they have cancelled their hunts for the 2.5yo animals for this year.

If you have purchased tickets, please be patient as we account for tickets still out with our VFW sellers.

A full refund will be coming back to you very soon from Post 10029.

For further information, & questions please contact CJ at (907) 452-1976 or email Clinton.Stewart@Scouting.Org

Scouting is about character and leadership.

The Scout Oath and Law – our very foundation – call for helpfulness, bravery, common courtesy, and respect among all people. Our values call us to stand up to injustice, as we strive to help other people at all times.

The Scouting movement recognizes and celebrates that the attributes that make us different actually draw us together as Scouts, citizens, and human beings. We refuse to accept violence or injustice toward another human being.

As Scouts, we recognize that much work remains to be done. We are committed to empathy, compassion, and to meaningfully improve. Scouting teaches young people to come together to find peaceful solutions, to work to become the best versions of themselves, and to create a better world.

Youth Protection Training Will Be Updated on June 1

NEW TO SC?OUTING

CLICK ON PICTURE BELOW TO TAKE TRAINING!

• This does not change the frequency that an individual must take Youth Protection training. It continues to be two years and the renewal continues to be based on the date you took YPT.
• There are no large changes to the content, rather small adjustments.

Over the decades, the Boy Scouts of America has been a leader in developing training and policies designed to keep young people safe. Over time, these policies have become standard with organizations across the nation. True youth protection can be achieved only through the focused commitment of everyone in Scouting. It is the mission of Youth Protection volunteers and professionals to work within the Boy Scouts of America to maintain a culture of Youth Protection awareness and safety at the national, regional, area, council, district, and unit levels.

We have heard your feedback and are now releasing updates to the mandatory online Youth Protection Training to include items such as:
• New mobile friendly design.
• Updates to the certification test to make questions less ambiguous.

We will communicate when this new release is available – the target date is June 1st, 2021.

It is recommended that anyone who has started the online training prior to this date complete the training as the new versions will cause the loss of any progress in a module.

The Cub Scout English E-Learning and Facilitated  Adult Training have been updated to match current Cub Scout Program changes and updates to include using Scoutbook - especially in relation to conducting a Cub Scout Den Meeting using the Den Leader Experience.

The new modules are available in the BSA Learn Center, and the following modules have been updated:

-Conducting a Cub Scout Den Meeting Annual Program Planning
-Cub Scout Uniforms
-Conducting a Cub Scout Pack Meeting Resources
-Involving Adults in Cub Scouting
-Conducting a Cub Scout Pack Committee Meeting
-The new English Facilitated materials can be downloaded from the scouting.org/training/adult page or by clicking here.

We encourage even those already position trained to accomplish the new modules so they are current with the latest program changes.

Please call the BSA office and we will be glad to reserve a DVD for you and your unit.

Remember that the Unit can HOST a Youth Protection Training on any night and many members can view the DVD Youth Protection Video as a group.

Send the BSA a list of those BSA volunteers and adults who have taken the course and we will credit your account.

Cub Scout Preview Adventure Protect Yourself Rules

CS Elec Belt Loop Protect yourself

The BSA takes youth protection seriously. In addition to requiring adults to complete Youth Protection Training, we also educate our youth on how to protect themselves. In partnership with the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center Foundation the BSA offers the Protect Yourself Rules Preview Adventure to our Cub Scouts. This adventure may be completed in lieu of the cyber chip.

For more information on the adventure, head to the Protect Yourself Rules Preview Adventure page. This adventure is available online only.

After you complete the adventure, please take a few minutes to complete the attached survey.

The BSA would really like to hear from you.

Scout together make something happen!

Scouts do stuff. They build things. Play with purpose. Make friends and work together.

Set goals and clear them. They go places. Physically. Mentally. Spiritually. These life-changing experiences — and the confidence they provide — become bricks in the wall of childhood. Bricks that eventually form a foundation. One a Scout can stand on to embrace opportunity and overcome obstacles. For the parents watching in awe, it’s not a question of where their Scout will go, but where won’t he go.
