The Tanana Valley District Committee is making plans
for a District-wide Haunted Trail fundraiser and
Recruitment event.

The event will be open from 5-9 pm and will be $8 a
person or $20 a car, with a portion of the proceeds
distributed to Units based on their levels of

This event will take place this October at the Ice Art
Park in Fairbanks, where units will be able to sponsor
sections of the trail through the "single-block" section.
We need units willing to participate in order for this to

Scouts do stuff. They build things. Play with purpose. Make friends and work together.

Set goals and clear them. They go places. Physically. Mentally. Spiritually. These life-changing experiences — and the confidence they provide — become bricks in the wall of childhood. Bricks that eventually form a foundation. One a Scout can stand on to embrace opportunity and overcome obstacles. For the parents watching in awe, it’s not a question of where their Scout will go, but where won’t they go.

The tragedy of child abuse, be it physical, sexual, or emotional is one that is truly heartbreaking.

Painfully, there have been incidents of abuse that occurred in our program, and we sincerely apologize that some despicable individuals used their positions in Scouting to harm children.

This year has been hectic, to say the least — disrupted schedules, cancelled campouts and constant adjustments have become the norm. Any resource to help you keep track of changes and plan accordingly would be welcomed.
