Cub Scout Council Rock

council rock 2016

On the weekend of September 23rd, 2016 approximately 5 Cub Scout Packs with about 100 participants including parents, Scouts and family members enjoyed a day of activity at Chena Lakes Recreation Facility.

The theme for the event was Olympics to commemorate the 2016 summer Olympics held in Brazil. The Cubs enjoyed activities to test their strength at a shuttle run, push-ups, sit-ups.  Cubs also enjoyed learning how to build a fire to boil water to cook their lunch and then to dive into the frigid Chena Lakes water to earn the right to be recognized as a Polar Bear Plunge participant along with a birch medallion to commemorate the experience.

Scouts also fished to see who could catch the most fish.

A special thanks goes out to Doug Anderson and Sharon Freeman for organizing the event!
