Spring Camporee

2024 SPRING CAMPOREE

63 Scouts had a howling good time at the Wise Wolf Camporee the weekend of May 3rd – 5th.  The scouts signed up for particular tracks of program presented to them by experts in their fields.
Scouts took part in a mock search and Rescue after receiving some training, cook delectable gourmet meals over a variety of outdoor cooking methods, practiced tying flies and casting, while others learned about traps and how to process their catch.
A great big thank you to the Midnight Sun Flycasters, Wilderness Search and Rescue, PAWS, the Alaska Trappers Association, and outdoor gourmet chef Bruce Campbell for teaching our Scouts valuable lessons. A special thanks to Mark Smurda for emceeing the campfire and to Dave Minto for cooking the meals for the staff.  It was a great weekend.
